March 2014

A fair month with just the one winner courtesy of PRESUMIDO (pictured below), well ridden by Jack Duern, to win the second race of his career and he remains progressive.

Brocklebank is worthy of special mention filling the runner up slot twice in the same week, notably when beaten the minimum of distance in a Class 2 8f Handicap.  His rating has risen appreciably as a consequence but he remains interesting, particularly back on turf.  Other horses to run well in the month include: Litmus, who continues to run solid races, Diamond Charlie who has been devoid of luck and came off worse in a barging match in a competitive sprint, Keep Kicking who has developed into a solid staying handicapper this Winter and Fair Value who took minor honours again in a Lingfield sprint when not appearing fully happy on the track but seems to be returning to form and will be campaigned again with The Dash on Derby Day in mind in all probability.
We have had a great six months and the horses continue to run well. I am very keen to build the strength of the stable still further and with this in mind am attending the next two Breeze Up Sales to source potential recruits.
Please let me know if you would like to be involved in some exciting new horses, whether that be in partnerships or individual ownership.
Oaks and Derby Day
Anyone wishing to spend Oaks and Derby Day with us is very welcome.  I plan to have an informal ‘Open House’ and inevitably some entertainment in the evening!!
If you fancy it you can bring a picnic to enjoy in the paddock.  You will be able to park here too but we shall have security on the gate, so let Mary know if you hope to come.
